Snowsports expertise

I offer insights from years of experience in ski centre and snowsport school operation and national governing body volunteering. I've tried most of the artificial surfaces avaiable in the UK, specifying and commissioning slope development and construction. I introduced snowboarding and tubing to my ski centre, developed a benchmark snowsport school and was an early adopter of freestyle facilities. So I can offer a significant range of expertise for advice on ski centre operation, snowsport schools, which surface to choose, risk assessment and accident investigation. My combination of engineering and sports expertise is unique. Here's a few examples of areas of expertise:

  • Adaptive snowsports coaching
  • Ski coaching in the UK and abroad
  • Ski centre management
  • Facility infrastructure specification
  • Artificial ski slope surface expertise
  • Specification and tendering of capital works and maintenance
  • Governing body advisory work
  • Advisor to insurers
  • Investigative work and report writing for insurers, solicitors and the courts.

I'm a Senior Tutor, one of three responsible for delivering international coaches qualifications, for which I led the design and development of the current award. I've served as Chair of the British Ski Slope Operators Association and Chair of Coaching for Snowsport England.

I have been awarded Disability Coach of the Year by UK Snowsport and been a finalist in the UK Coaching awards for my innovative locked in shed podcasts.
